OH, I love me a good chosen family. Do you have any favorite groups/families of all time in terms of kdramas? And I’m definitely on the same boat as you re: dramas this year. I think I’ve dropped more dramas than finished any this year, but the ones I did finish, I loved (twinkling watermelon T_T). I’m glad you get to spend your holidays with loved ones! I have a few family members coming to visit as well so I’m excited for that! Anyways~ i hope your weekend ends on a high note! ~*Secret Santa*~

i definitely do! the core five in goblin are deffo super high on my list (kim shin, grin reaper, sunny, euntak, deok-hwa) and the other number one spot goes to the geumga plaza tenants in vincenzo. then a recent entry are the drone family from castaway diva, they were my favourite thing in the whole show. also yohan, elijah and ga-on in the devil judge, the main trio in it’s okay to not be okay, the brothers in tvn’s life, the gang surrounding jin jeong in bad prosecutor, and the soldiers and se-ri in crash landing on you. 🫶

also twinkling watermelon is still on my list to watch! what were some kdrama tropes you really loved this year (or even in general?) ☺️ and i am glad to hear you’re also spending the holidays with loved ones, that’s always the best thing about it! hope you’re having a good start to your week. 💕

The writer told in an interview that he took the idea from the movie "kung fu hustle". In that movie too the evil gang was trying to force the residents to move out from the apartment complex. But they failed each time because surprisingly the apartment complex was filled with silly people who could all secretly fight.

The funniest part is the name of the building. The building is called "Geumga" plaza. And gold is called "geum" in Korean. So the gold is essentially hidden in the building that is literally named "gold" 😭😂🤌

Also it's the viewer's perspective that oh my God! 40 people have died! But that number is very less compared to the actual number of people that die in conglomerates. While it may seem an exaggeration, Vincenzo is honestly the first show that has shown so clearly how these companies keep doing these shitty things so openly.

The number of people taking up sciences in Asian countries is drastically more than the number of people going into arts and commerce. When I was doing engineering, my electronics professor joked that in our country(India) if you throw a stone it lands on an engineer. And he's not wrong. So when they show scientists in an Asian show working in a company, (and this is for every non-asian person reading this who watches asian shows) they aren't actually doing some great-very-scientific-job like people expect. They're just normal office workers. And it's a completely okay and fine company if only 40 of their workers have died. Hundreds and thousands of people die everyday in these companies because the CEO's ignore safety issues to earn a little more money.

The fictional part about this is that Babel is actually trying to form a story and go to court about this. Because they actually want the public to perceive them as a good company. Most companies don't care about having a good image, as long as they're providing jobs with adequate salary they're a great company. So what actually happens in those situations is what Choi Myunghee did. They simply kill off the people involved.

And like I said, 40 people dying in a company where millions work is nothing. Even if there are only ten thousand engineers and scientists, and that is very low compared to the actual numbers, the casualties account to only 0.4%. Which even the normal public ignore. And given the amount of science graduates they are never going to be short of scienctists.

I'm on Ep 7 of Vincenzo and I'm enjoying it so far because honestly, it's so silly. The writer clearly admires the fantasy of a Gentleman Mafia Villain (can't even flick a woman!) and seems very blasé about all the very real mafia crimes in Italy. Babel Group is comically evil, like murdering people all over the place EVIL and they face zero consequences. Sorry, but I can't believe that any place on earth is corrupt enough not to investigate this insane company. South Korea will be fresh out of scientists if they've already given like 40 of them leukemia or blown them up. At some point, can the public really believe that everyone who whistle blows on them is embezzling money?

It's fun. The apartment residents are hilarious. The schemes are silly. The female lead is basically amoral. The little feud with the Italian restaurant owner is amusing. There are many suits. I'm interested to see where it will go.

Lyf headcanons pt4

I've seen a lot of AUs and crossovers with HTTYD and can't help but think what if there was a new AU crossover of Vincenzo(kdrama) and Hiccstrid.

It would make for such an entertaining headcanon idea, like imagine a ruthless Hiccup who's playing Vincenzo being a badass mafia lawyer and Astrid being Cha Young, a brazen bold tenacious lawyer but with a twist of HTTYD universe. Although come to think about it Ruffnut's personality suits Cha Young more...

Since their personalities clash it would be messy if not written properly. But I want to see Hiccup as an antihero character who wants peace just as much as canon Hiccup and is ruthless enough to use merciless justice to achieve it. And as amazingly badass as Astrid is physically Cha Young's mental strength is something I think would very much complement these female leads very well.

Given Hiccstrid's witty comebacks and snarks (coughmainlyHiccup'scough), it would be fun to see them out of the Viking physical fighting stereotype for a bit and see Hiccstrid as badass lawyers who use wits and words instead of Inferno and the axe.

With enough backstory in this AU would be such a fun take since Vincenzo is dealing with the corruption of the law and HTTYD is dealing with adaptation and transformation from the old into the new (aka traditions to moderness).

The dragons would have to be inexistent tho. Else it's gonna be weird considering it to be a modern AU. Imagine Toothless as Inzhagi lmao.

And Viggo as Choi Myung Hee. Maybe Dagur as Park Seok Do or Hwang Min Seong. And Drago or Grimmel as Jang Han Seok. There would definitely be a lot of OC's as well.

And without the whole Maces and Talons metaphor, coz while it was a fun mind game it, soon got old with how much it was mentioned. And Viggo's actions were kind of predictable season four onwards once Hiccup match up with his game.

(P.s. this is just me being salty on the writers rtte coz some episodes especially seaason five onwards it felt more of like wasted potential rather than fulfilling. Like King of Dragons or 1&2 felt so rushed like huh?!) Anyays rants aside feel free to disagree.

Should I write it? Maybe I'll pos some headcanons here. It's gonna be a WIP.

THIS IS WHAT SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED

-when Chayoung and Vinny were in the gallery, they should have talked about Ms. Oh's trial, the gold, Geumga Gang, Han Seo and how he made it out alive after the bullet surgery. (Vinny wasn't able to see him because of the whole "I need to flee Korea" situation)

-they walk outside and they have that whole discussion about themselves and Vinny says that he missed her. Chayoung jokingly says she finds that hard to believe and then Vinny grabs her elbow and kisses her

-after they break away from the first kiss, Vinny says "do you believe me now" and Chayoung grabs him and kisses him again

-the camera pans out and the music in the background still has "I'm Always By Your Side" playing

-WE GET RID OF THE MONOLOGUE AND HIS DRAMATIC ASS WALK AND STARE. THE MONOLOGUE SHOULD HAVE BEEN AT THE BEGINNING OF THE DRAMA

-there is now a 1-2 year timeskip. we see Geumga Gang +Han Seo in Toto's restaurant. They are all talking and drinking. Mr. An is also there. He came clean about his actual job

-they're all very happy and content with their lives

-but then they see someone strolling into the restaurant and it just so happens to be their Corn Salad Cassano

-Chaos ensues, they're crying and screaming and Mr. Nam, Mr. An and Han Seo can't let go of Vinny but he doesn't seem to mind

-Geumga Gang lets him sit down and explain everything and how his name is cleared because of the Guillotine File. He can stay in Korea but he says that he will return to his island once in a while to see how everything is going.

-Everyone is so delighted and happier than before

-Vinny glances over to Chayoung who is tearing up because she can't believe he is back for good (yes, they maintained their romance, I'm not breaking them up after the hell they went through)

-Chayoung gets up and hugs him and he hugs back and kisses her

-Everyone starts to shout claiming that their eyes need bleach

-Han Seo and Seok Do start to hug each other

-After that all happens, all of them talk and just have a good time

-The finale ends with all of the Geumga Family while Vinny monologues about his journey of a consiglierie, found family and his partner

-Chayoung then monologues about her journey of a lawyer, her family and her partner

-Both of them duologue about their journey as it interwined and it just wraps there.

So we have ‘The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter’, I now propose the idea that the producers of Vincezo should create a spin off show from Vincenzo entitled 

‘Vincenzo’s school of Villainy’    

I think it would make a great T.V. show! Come on how cool would that be, Vincenzo training up the next line of recruits for the Cassano Geumga family. 

I mean he is practically Dumbledore anyway, he even has own form of Deluminator after all. The signs are there people, the signs are there!
